Kids backpack
About 7 to 16 liters
A kids backpack is a bag a child will actually wear: about 7 liters for a toddler, about 12 liters for a school-size licensed bag, 16 inches when a lunch box rides along. It is a kid-day bag and a classroom bag. It is not a stadium tote. If the gate wants to see through the bag, the bottle still belongs in a clear park tote.
School versus park
School hallways do not ask for 12 by 6 by 12 clear. Parks screen bags. Disney parks allow a non-clear backpack inside 24 by 15 by 18 inches, and they do not require clear as the default. A 12-liter character backpack usually clears that envelope. A 16-inch school set with a lunch box is heavier on a five-mile park day. Measure it. Read the operator page that morning.
Universal Orlando screens bags and uses lockers on thrill rides. A kid backpack that is already stuffed will not fit a free locker. Pack light. Wipes and a small snack can live in the kid bag. Water and sunscreen are easier in the adult tote so one person opens at the check.
Heat and a small back
Central Florida heat sits on a child’s shoulders the same way it sits on yours. A 7-liter toddler backpack is enough for a stuffed toy and a hat. A 12-liter school bag is enough for a light layer. Do not load a 16-inch Monday bag for a Saturday park morning unless the child wants that face and you are willing to carry it by lunch.
